I am a qualified beauty therapist so know how important it is to look after your skin but also just how expensive and time consuming it can be. I've always liked natural remedies and homemade products because you know exactly what's put in to them and its so much cheaper, as well as being so much fun to make.
Here's some recipes for a simple daily cleanse, tone and moisturise routine, try them out and let me know what you think!
Simple yoghurt cleanser:
- 1 fresh strawberry
- 1 tbsp. plain whole-milk yoghurt
- 1 drop lavender essential oil
Crush the fresh strawberry and combine the yoghurt and the juice. Add the lavender essential oil and mix together well. Dampen your face with warm water and massage the yoghurt mixture into your face for a minute. Rinse well with warm water.
Simple skin toner:
- 1 teaspoon distilled witch hazel
- 10 drops lavender essential oil
Add ingredients to a 125ml (4fl oz) bottle, shake vigorously to mix the oil and witch hazel. Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. Saturate a cotton ball with the toner and gently wipe over your skin.
Simple moisturiser:
- 10 drops lavender essential oil
- 30ml jojoba oil
Add ingredients to a bottle (a glass pharmacy bottle with a dropper works really well!) and shake well. After cleansing your face and applying toner, massage a few drops of the oil onto your skin.
