10 Pretty Pink Nails!
So to day I thought I'd share with you all 10 of the prettiest pink nail designs I have done!
The 5 best face masks for oily skin
So being a beauty therapist, I have come across every skin type imaginable, and the main concern people have is oily skin or spots caused by oily skin. I have taken some time scouring through books, researching on websites and trialling loads of recipes and I have now put together a quick list of the best 5 homemade face masks for oil, blemish proned skin! (These really work!)
*(SCIENCY BIT)*
Oily skin (seborrhoea) is caused by excess skin oil (sebum). During puberty, increased androgen levels, which are male hormones present in both males and females, signal the oil glands of the skin to mature. At this time the body begins producing much more skin oil. For some people, oil glands go into overdrive and the skin takes on an oily look. This oily appearance normally subsides to some degree after puberty, but can persist into adulthood, and is often seasonal, coinciding with humid weather. The good news is that most experts agree that oily skin helps skin age more slowly with fewer wrinkles. The bad news is that oily skin can look, well, oily. Also, as a whole, people with oilier skin tend to suffer more with acne.
So here's the best recipes to help get that excess oil under control and have your shiny skin glowing for a whole different reason!!
1. Apricot face mask
Regulates skin oiliness, soothes acne flare ups, nourishes the skin (great for sensitive skin)
Ingredients:
-1 apricot
-1 tbsp. natural yoghurt
-1/2 tsp bentonite clay
Method:
Mash the peeled apricot in a food processor or blender, then add the yoghurt and clay and mix all the ingredients until you have a smooth paste.
Apply to your face evenly, making sure to avoid the eye area, and leave for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
For continued/optimum results use once a week.
2. Honey, lemon and banana mask
Absorbs and retains moisture, nourishes and hydrates the skin, exfoliates dead skin cells
Ingredients:
- 3 tsp mashed banana
- 1/2 tsp honey
- a few drops of lemon juice
Method:
Mix all the ingredients until you form a smooth paste.
Apply to the face and neck, again avoiding the eye area, leave for 20 minutes then rinse with warm water.
For continued/optimum results use once a week.
3. Strawberry Mask
Cleanses and exfoliates the skin, tightens pores, treats acne
Ingredients:
-8 Strawberries
-A few drops of lemon juice
-1 tbsp. bentonite clay
Method:
Mash/blend the strawberries, then add the clay and lemon juice. Mix until they form a paste.
Apply to face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Pay special attention to your t-zone if your looking to reduce enlarged pores. Leave for 15-20 minutes, rinse with warm water.
For continued/optimum results use once a week.
4. Green tea and Aloe Mask
Hydrates, moisturises and softens the skin, improves elasticity, absorbs excess oil and treats acne.
Ingredients:
-2 tsp green tea
-1 tsp honey
-2 tsp bentonite clay
-1 tbsp. aloe vera gel
Method:
Mix together ingredients to form a paste.
Apply to face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
Leave for 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
For continued/optimum results use once a week.
5. Oatmeal mask
Cleanses the pores, exfoliates and moisturises the skin, reduces spots and acne scars
Ingredients:
-3 tbsp. fine ground oatmeal
-2 tbsp. natural yoghurt
-1/2 tsp. honey
Method:
Grind the oatmeal finely (If your oatmeal isn't already), mix together with the yoghurt and honey until you form a paste.
Apply to face and neck, avoiding the eye area and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse well with warm water.
For continued/optimum results use once a week.
Make sure after using any of the above masks to splash your face with cool water after rinsing to close up your pores to stop any impurities getting into them and try not to touch your face, your hands carry oils that increase the oil on your face too!
Hope this helps all of you (like me) prone to oily skin! Let me know if you try the recipes and how you get on!

Top 10 DIY Makeup Storage Tips!
So its that time again!
Sorting out the dreaded makeup box...
If, like me you have so much makeup your literally swimming in it then I have devised some of the best Do It Yourself make up storage ideas!
1. Lipstick/gloss pot pyramid!
This way you can sort between shade, brand, gloss or lipstick and the essential lip balms for those cold winters and dry lips! So easy anyone could do it! Use as many pots as you need (6 works well for the pyramid effect) and you could glue them or use double sided stick squares to attach them together so none of them fall. Decorate the jars how you like but I find the best is keeping them clear so you get a great view of all your fantastic lip colours!
2. Cakestand nail varnish display!
So pretty and elegant looking! Using a cupcake stand to display all of your fantastic nail shades. For an extra great look, try colour coordinating your nail varnishes so the stand looks even more organised and its easy for you to find that favourite shade of yours!
3. Brush Tidies!
Simple! Use any pot and fill with beads or sand to help your brushes stand up. I've found that separating my face brushes from my eye and lip brushes looks better and helps me so much more! You can colour coordinate to match your room too!
4. Hanging storage buckets!
Absolutely fantastic way to store all of your big items. This can be attached to the back of your bedroom door or even to a wall. Perfect for hair tongs, curling irons, hair dryers, brushes and the other bulky thing taking up all of your valuable drawer space!
5. Magnetic makeup board!
Store all of your palette tins using a magnetic board! This could also be used to attach metal buckets for extra storage too! Jazz it up by using a fancy frame for the outside of your board!
6. Spice rack!
Makeup palettes fit excellently into a spice rack and are easy to see and reach.
7. Good old storage drawers!
Try getting some plastic storage drawers but instead of just chucking your makeup in willy-nilly, label your drawers for extra organisation, this will save you so much time when hunting for makeup!
8. Back of the door hanging organiser!
This hanging room tidy is perfect for all those fiddly bits of makeup, you can organise them into colour, theme... however you want! And it just hangs on the back of your door! No more drawers!
9. Drawer Dividers!
You can pick these up from any DIY store or even make your own. They can be wooden, plastic or even cardboard. Use them to separate your drawers into sections then organise all of your beauty bits into these separate section. Looks absolutely fantastic and take minutes to do!
And i've saved the best till last...
10. THE BEAUTY TOOLBOX!
This may be a little more expensive to purchase and you would definitely need the room for it but you have to admit, it looks absolutely fantastic and has enough space to organise everything perfectly!
Well I hope these tips have helped, I guess I best get on with the sort out now! I'd love to hear what you think of my top tips and if any of you have tried them!

Natural homemade remedies for Normal Skin
I am a qualified beauty therapist so know how important it is to look after your skin but also just how expensive and time consuming it can be. I've always liked natural remedies and homemade products because you know exactly what's put in to them and its so much cheaper, as well as being so much fun to make.
Here's some recipes for a simple daily cleanse, tone and moisturise routine, try them out and let me know what you think!
Simple yoghurt cleanser:
- 1 fresh strawberry
- 1 tbsp. plain whole-milk yoghurt
- 1 drop lavender essential oil
Crush the fresh strawberry and combine the yoghurt and the juice. Add the lavender essential oil and mix together well. Dampen your face with warm water and massage the yoghurt mixture into your face for a minute. Rinse well with warm water.
Simple skin toner:
- 1 teaspoon distilled witch hazel
- 10 drops lavender essential oil
Add ingredients to a 125ml (4fl oz) bottle, shake vigorously to mix the oil and witch hazel. Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. Saturate a cotton ball with the toner and gently wipe over your skin.
Simple moisturiser:
- 10 drops lavender essential oil
- 30ml jojoba oil
Add ingredients to a bottle (a glass pharmacy bottle with a dropper works really well!) and shake well. After cleansing your face and applying toner, massage a few drops of the oil onto your skin.
